HURRICANE IRENE FOLLOW UP
The Landings, as in most areas, experienced its share of the high winds, rain, and flooding from Hurricane Irene. The storm surges came at about the same time as high tide which caused a large amount of flooding when the bulkheads were breached. From initial reports, damage was limited to individual condominiums that were exposed to water coming over the bulkheads and entering the lower levels. The property itself has some downed trees and debris. Island East Management did an admirable job of protecting the pool furniture and preventing large amounts of fragments from entering the water. Spillari Landscaping has begun the cleaning of twigs and branches from all areas. Rashad has been surveying the buildings to identify any problems in need of repair. There was some sporadic interrruption of electrical service but The Landings now has full power. If you can, the board recommends owners inspect their units as soon as possible to identify internal damage from water that could produce adverse conditions such as mold. Hopefully everyone got through the storm without serious problems and in good health. The board expects everything to be in order for our annual meeting this Sunday at 10:00 in the meeting room (formerly the barn). We look forward to seeing you then.
If you do not expect to attend, please have your proxies delivered to one of the board members listed on the proxy statement.
