PERMISSION REQUESTED FOR WIRING SURVEY
Over the last several months the board has been reviewing the conversion of electrical wiring in all units to copper as a result of insurance companies demands that The Landings comply with their present building code standards. This is separate from New York State law of which we are in compliance.. Everyone has been made aware of this through correspondence and its discussion at the 2013 annual meeting details of which can be found in the minutes and President’s address. Both can be found on our website.
The first step in addressing the problem is having Rashad’s electrician survey units to determine what has to be done and arrive at an approximate cost to determine a budget. He will need access to the condos which will necessitate having each unit owner’s written permission. Attached is a form that needs to be signed and returned to us as soon as possible. Chubb Insurance Company dropped our coverage in April forcing us to go to the marketplace for a replacement company. Nine out of ten refused due to the outdated wiring in our eight buildings. We have no choice but to move ahead quickly and have the project completed before our current policies expire in April, 2014.
