Taxes from Town of Southampton

As you have been made aware, the board successfully protested the increased assessed valuation from the Town of Southampton.  Their tax authorities did not follow through by informing the Village of Westhampton Beach which in turn, sent out tax bills based upon the protested assessment, essentially increasing our  local taxes.

The board went to the tax assessor and explained that the residents of WHL did not want to pay the bill because of the error by the Town of Southampton and wait for a refund in the fall.  The tax assessor has agreed to send out revised bills to all owners this week.  The corrected tax bill is $622.09 annually and should be paid by July 1.  Anyone who has paid the bill that is not correct will receive a refund.
